AISI 316Ti – 1.4571
This alloy is part of austenitic steels family, and it is stabilized with titanium.
Compared to the more common AISI 304 and AISI 316 it therefore contains a small percentage of titanium inside.
This addition makes AISI 316Ti more resistant to intercrystalline corrosion, therefore resulting in better resistance to chemical and corrosive agents in the welding areas. (phenomenon called PITTING).
These peculiarities make it the ideal solution in saline environments, and with chlorides and reducing acids.
It finds use in various industrial sectors, paper, pharmaceutical, naval, textile and chemical.
The commercial name is precisely AISI 316Ti, but it is available on the market with alternative nomenclatures:
1.4571
UNS S32100
X6CrNiMoTi17-12X
